Introduction to Porter Airlines

Porter Airlines is a small Canadian airline headquartered in Toronto, Canada, that offers scheduled flights between Toronto and cities across Canada as well as the United States. The airline is situated at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and serves over 20 different destinations.

Porter Airlines began operations in 2006, with a single Toronto–Ottawa service. With time, the airline expanded rapidly its operations to other parts of Canada and, finally, to the United States, when it began flying to California and Florida for the first time.

The amount of carry-on luggage allowed varies according on the ticket fee booked.

Typical fare Passengers are only allowed to keep one personal item, with any further things being considered checked baggage. The personal item should be no more than 17 inches long, 6 inches wide, and 13 inches tall, with a weight limit of 9 kilogrammes per bag.

For domestic flights, check-in shuts 30 minutes prior to departure, while for international flights; check-in shuts 60 minutes prior to departure. Passengers should arrive well before of check-in closures to give enough time for check-in, luggage drop, security, and boarding.

On any of Porter Airlines' flights, there is no in-flight entertainment or WiFi. The airline offers each passenger with the most recent issue of its in-flight magazine, re:porter, as amusement. re:porter is a quarterly publication that provides destination motivation as well as a variety of other entertaining and informative pieces.
