Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) is a special service offered by the airlines for children between the ages of 5 and under 15 years old who are flying by themselves.
Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) service is mandatory for children between the ages of 5 and under 15. Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) travel may be booked online or through airline representative over the call, a fee of $150.0 USD each passenger, each way, will be applied to be paid at the time of booking the travel or may be paid at the airport.
Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) service is mostly offered on only non-stop or direct flights, some airlines do allow minors flying by themselves on connecting flights as well, depending on the Airlines.
Airlines Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) Policies
- Frontier Airlines & Allegiant Air does not offer Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) service.
- Southwest Airlines offered Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) service to travelers between 5 and under 12 years. 12 years old or above can fly alone on Southwest Airlines without opting for Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) service.
- JetBlue Airways or Alaska Air offered Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) service to travelers between 5 and under 14 years. 14 years old or above can fly alone on JetBlue Airways or Alaska Air without opting for Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) service.
- On most of the Airlines, travelers between 15 & 17 years, Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) service is optional.
- 15 or above can fly to & from any airports and can fly with most of the Airlines without opting for Unaccompanied minor (UMNR) service.
